How do you feel about the women of Power Rangers? Do you feel like they do a good job of exemplifying what a heroine should be? Do you feel as if Power Rangers took a step back with the way they personify women?

Are they what you watch for? Who's your favorite and why?

I feel that the PR Ladies do a great job. Each one has been pretty tough really. As for the best one, i gotta go with Kimberly here. She was cute, sexy and a good fighter. An honourable mention goes out to Z who is awesome too

I think some females get overrated. Particularly Jen and Kimberly. But most females are portrayed in a good way and perceived by fans in the way they should be. Power rangers does a good job of giving variety in females. Some years we get girly girls and other years we get strong females. Its a good mix..

All of the female Rangers are great. I think I favor all the females in each season over most of the male Rangers.

My top favorites would be Tanya, Trini, Jen, Summer and Katie.

I like the women in power rangers though i admit some seem more generic than the male characters at times e.g Tanya was just a clone of Aisha with less personality.

My favourite female rangers though would be Kat (MMPR-turbo) Kim , Jen , Kira and Tori

The female rangers do a great job fighting...it depends on their fighting skills

I think that most of the females are only noticed if they have love interests.

Karan quit so suddenly they decided not to restore Aisha's age, so she didn't even appear in the Alien finale.

Outside of them both being black, how was Tanya a clone of Aisha?

Simple and nothing to with them both been black.

I reckon that's because some of Tanya's storylines were meant for Aisha. Karan quit so suddenly they decided not to restore Aisha's age, so she didn't even appear in the Alien finale.

This I agree with. That is a lot of it and as a result they were forced to write her in even turbo very close to how they wrote Aisha. Only difference was Aisha seemed more bubbly or rather seemed softer and more cheery.

Be more specific because those two aren't really alike at all. Aisha came in as a perky, almost girly girl, who was a great martial artist. As you said, she was "bubbly" and "cheery" whereas Tanya came in as a rather reserved person who couldn't fight for nothing so Adam had to teach her. Her screen time involved her having a jackass bf and Adam teaching her martial arts. Does that really sound like Aisha to you?

I think Summer is very underrated as one of the best female rangers. She's strong, independent, and a good role model for the little girls who watch PR. That and her boyfriend is a total badarse.

They're pretty good and do personify how women can handle things as well as men. What I love about them is that at least as rangers, they aren't bitchy, rude or anything like that (unless you count Syd in the beginning). They don't have deep dark pasts or some horrible life changing event to motivate them to protect others around them. They're just being themselves normally, and then doing their duty as a ranger when the time calls for it. The composure, the balance between both lives is what I like.

Summer is easily the best female ranger out there. Even though she was shown to be quite a material girl in her past, it changed with time and now she's cute and caring and I really felt a huge spark of admiration when she jumped in to save the day (in that episode where she, Dillon and Ziggy were on their own little mission). I thought Jen's character was kinda overdone, so I guess that finishes my post...

Maybe this is just me, but the most positive female role models within PR have been (in order) for me: Trini, Aisha, Tanya, Tori, Z and Summer.

Curiously enough, 4 out of 5 happen to be yellow rangers.

What impresses me about Summer is the incredible development she went through. It just goes to show that, no matter who you are or what you are, under the right mindset you can make yourself into whatever you want, and you'd hardly recognize yourself through the positive change. Hell, I don't just think Summer is an inspiration to females, I think she's an inspiration to us all.

What impresses me about Z is her incredibly street wise attitude, she doesn't forget what's important and doesn't stop sympathizing others who have shared her past, even when she becomes a figure of authority. There is always one cop like this, and they're VERY hard to find.

What impresses me about Tori is that she held her own even to the same level as the boys, and lets be frank she was in a completely male dominated squad, the ratio was 1:5. Not only did she do just as well as the boys, I actually think she did heaps better, it felt like she was even leading Shane sometimes.

What impresses me about Tanya is the incredible speed of which she fitted into an alien environment. She started off in the African jungles and deserts, leading a life that usually involved avoiding wild beasts before it got too dark, naive to western culture, suddenly she traded places with Aisha, and it's AMAZING how much she blooms, how much she learns.

What impresses me about Trini and Aisha is that neither needed a guy to bail her out. I'm sick of people praising Kim as a role model, who couldn't do anything without demanding assistance constantly, needing rescuing constantly, people think this is a role model? Hell, Trini didn't need rescuing, she had honour, she tackled her problems herself to say that she could, and the others assisted after if she needed them. Aisha, however, never got herself in any scraps, she avoided it, because she wasn't a wet blanket. And yeah, neither needed guys to develop their characters.

What's that I hear you say? What about Jen and Taylor? Well I made it clear I was looking at POSITIVE role models, and Taylor is such a negative role model it's not even funny. Jen though, slightly more plausable for a positive role model, but I never really saw the hype in her, she wasn't that special.

Jens hype came simply for being a female leader. If she was a male with that same distant relationship from her team nobody would see her as that great of a leader and probably less of a ranger.

The females are great contributors to the PR Teams, but are often made to play second fiddle to the Male rangers. I would also love to see a female Red ranger for a full season.

why is taylor a bad role model?

Well she punched Cole in the stomach without warning when they first met.

She was also distracted from her USAF duties by the Eagle Zord. You can see that in the finale. Military personnel aren't supposed to have their attention diverted like that.

All the Ladies of PR kickass on a wide scale but to ask someone to pick a few outstanding ones is a tough question. After some consideration I choose Trini. Kat, Maya, Kira and Lily

Its Trini for me. She had a level head on her shoulders. Just the fact that she managed to stay calm under pressure and fought with Honor did it for me..
